Advent – time to share the good news

At Advent we remember how God shared the good news about his Son in different ways to different people. For Mary and Joseph it was a deep personal involvement of their family. For the shepherds it was an angelic revelation. For the wise men the result of study and observation enabling them to recognize God’s sign.

Today God is still wanting to share the good news about his Son. Now we have the privilege to be his messengers. Once again he wants to use us in different ways to bring the good news to different people in our city.

On Saturday between 12.00 and 13.00 there will be a time of singing Christmas songs and giving out coffee, glögi and ginger biscuits in Hansatori. Come along and join in. This is arranged by many free churches of Turku together.

On Saturday at 18.00 and Sunday at 18.00 we will have our church Christmas party and Christmas music. These are very different types of events so that we can bring different types of people. Bring a friend or at least come and be a friend to the people who come.

How about distributing A&O magazine to your neighbors? We still have many left. Take a small step for Jesus and distribute them. When I did it I had a nice meeting with an old lady who needed help opening the door and was happy to get A&O.

The deepest contact is with our family and friends as we send out greetings and meet them at Christmas. Let us share the good news with them through our lives and words as the Holy Spirit leads us.

Be blessed this Christmas.
